5 Tech Products for Babies

jelleke-vanooteghem-386022-unsplashAs I have a baby on the way, I have been searching the Internet for gadgets and devices that will both ensure my success as a father and increase my baby’s health and happiness. So far through my research, I have compiled a list of 5 products that interest me by reading reviews and asking other parents. So, let me begin.

  1. Angelsounds JPD100B Fetal Doppler

As I still have quite a long time to go, I have not had the chance to buy and review many products; however, my first purchase had to be a fetal doppler. This device allows me to hear my little one’s heartbeat from home and not cause any harm to the baby. The Angelsounds JPD100B Fetal Doppler works wonderfully, is very durable, and also only costs around $49.99. Now, I can listen to my baby’s heartbeat from the comfort of my bed, always reassuring me that he/she is doing well. Trust me, it is better than soft music or a Tylenol PM to help me fall asleep.

  1. Vtech Click & Remote

I have heard stories about how babies seem to love to play with the TV remote, and as someone who has multiple remotes controlling numerous devices, I for one, wish to address the issue of losing or finding a soggy remote. For this reason, the Vtech Click & Remote seems to be an ideal device. This toy is both interactive and educational, featuring over 45 songs and sounds. The colorful buttons teach children about numbers and shapes, as well as being constructed of durable and safe materials. For an inexpensive price of $15.95 on Amazon, this should definitely be one of every baby’s first introductions into technology.

  1. OXO Tot Bottle Brush with Nipple Cleaner and Stand

Next, I frequently have heard horror stories about cleaning baby bottles, and as being somewhat of a germophobe, I wanted to find a device that makes this chore much more manageable. The OXO Tot Bottle Brush with Nipple Cleaner and Stand looks ideal for solving this future dilemma. Featuring multiple brush tips and colors, this cleaner fits most bottles of various shapes and sizes. Additionally, this product has a non-slip grip, can wash other types of containers, as well as being dishwasher safe. Costing only $6.99, this product sounds like a win-win to me. While this isn’t really a tech product, I wanted to include it due to how helpful it could be.

  1. YI Dome Camera

As a person who applies the highest levels of tech and security to all of my possessions and aspects in life, my baby will be no different. Being able to ensure the safety and wellbeing of my baby at all times is a growing concern of mine. However, I have found a device that will ease my mind. The YI Dome Camera is a massive upgrade to the typical and outdated baby monitor. Featuring a high-definition wide-angle camera view, full-audio, and real-time activity alerts, this camera seems to be exactly the tool I need in my new parent’s utility belt. With 360* rotation, 720P High-Definition video, 2-way audio, and night-vision, this $37.99 camera will allow parents to not miss a second of their baby’s slumber (or their hysterical crying).

  1. Owlet Smart Sock 2

Another great benefit of technology is being able to track and monitor something. With the Owlet Smart Sock 2, your baby’s oxygen levels, heart rate, skin temperature, and rollovers are observed through wearing these socks and sent straight to your mobile device. While this product seems slightly designed for paranoid parents (me), I can still see the benefits of this device for any parent (having more information that you need is never a poor decision). Did I mention that sleep data is also tracked and displayed? The Owlet’s mobile application is as easy to use as it is advanced, offering new parents an unparalleled amount of data and comfort knowing that their baby is in good hands (or feet).

As the months pass and I get closer to becoming a father, I will continue to research and review new and exciting technologies and devices that can help raise expectations for expecting parents. Stay tuned and thanks for reading.
