IT Network/Hardware Item List

As I have stated before, my company is moving to a new and larger building and thus, scaling up/upgrading our IT network and hardware. Due to this, a list of items that we will need to accomplish this transition has to be assembled so that we can get a better understanding of what is required, what it costs, and when we need it.

So, for the first step, a simple list of items will be sufficient. These items are merely intended to give a general understanding of what is needed; a more thorough and complex list will follow in the coming weeks.

In this phase of the process, remember to think about your company’s projected growth in about 3-5 years. Scalability is crucial when purchasing new equipment. It is better to have a device that performs far better than you actually need it to than to have to replace it in a few months due to your network’s needs growing faster than you anticipated.

Hopefully, this will help others in their quest for upgrading or creating a network from scratch.
