As this is my 250th post, I am proud to have hit this significant milestone with my website. Through my research and creation of this blog, I have realized I haven’t covered too much information regarding the future of jobs in my profession. Since I am just getting started with my career, I have been searching for the direction I wish to pursue in the world of IT. So, here is some information I have gathered regarding what IT jobs look promising in the future, concerning pay and projected growth.

IT jobs are among the fastest-growing industries now and into the future. As technology advances, so does the need for skilled professionals. Here are some of the positions which have interested me and are helping the world navigate into the future of tech.

Mobile Applications Developer- By creating new products and adapting existing ones to mobile devices, these professionals work with video game studios, marketing firms, and advertising agencies to develop content for their clients. The median pay for these positions in 2017 was $102,986/year and have an estimated 57% growth by 2020.

Market Research Analyst- These professionals help companies understand what people desire, at what price would they pay, and who will buy a product by collecting /analyzing data, creating reports, and applying algorithms to current and future trends. The median pay for these positions in 2017 was $63,230/year and have an estimated 32% growth by 2022.

Software Developer/Engineer- The artists behind the scenes of a computer program. Working with computer programmers, these individuals create applications and build systems. The median pay for these positions in 2017 was $63,230/year and have an estimated 24% growth by 2026.

Network Architect/Engineer- By designing and building various types of networks, these professionals ensure the reliable and speedy connection within an organization. The median pay for these positions in 2017 was $104,650/year and have an estimated 6% growth by 2026.

Information Security Analyst- Something that I have always been passionate about is data protection and security. Maybe it was hearing about hackers from the media or my time in the Air Force that grabbed my attention, but executing and coordinating measures to protect a company’s computer networks and systems have captivated me throughout my life. The median pay for these positions in 2017 was $111,395/year and have an estimated 28% growth by 2026.

Web Developer- Using numerous programming languages and operating systems, these individuals create online software for their clients. Coding rules supreme in this profession. The median pay for these positions in 2017 was $93,402/year and have an estimated 15% growth by 2022.
